Gynecology with Passion and Experience

Welcome to

Singer Praxis

Our practice, founded in Zurich in 1997 (with a website since 1998), offers both basic gynecological and obstetric care as well as highly specialized services for fertility workup & treatment, including in vitro fertilization (IVF/ICSI).

Our practice’s motto is “Competence and Empathy.” Since 2009, a female physician has been an indispensable member of our team; in 2010, we relocated the practice to a central location in Küsnacht. From 1997 to 2022, we offered both outpatient consultations and hospital care “under one roof,” meaning that for surgeries and childbirth, you could have your regular doctor accompany you to the hospital; since 2023, we have been working in partnership with affiliated specialists at the hospital for surgeries and births, and we continue to recommend that you have supplemental hospital insurance (private or semi-private) for these services. Our practice has become a hub for international patients and is a partner of Männedorf and Uster hospitals for IVF services.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, we accept new patients, and no referral is needed. Simply contact us by phone or through the contact form. ContactBook Online

  • For acute symptoms we always try to find a slot at short notice – please call us. Outside our opening hours you will find the emergency numbers on our emergency page; pregnant patients should contact the midwife at their chosen maternity clinic directly. ContactEmergency

  • There is no fixed age. A first visit makes sense whenever there are questions – about periods, contraception, the HPV vaccination, or simply out of uncertainty. At the first visit there is no automatic examination; we take time to talk. → ScreeningTeenager

  • Of course – partner, friend, mother or a person you trust. You decide who is present during the consultation and who is not.

  • As a guide, once a year; sometimes a longer interval is sufficient. Which rhythm suits you depends on your age, previous findings and contraception – we determine it together.

  • Basic insurance covers gynaecological screening, investigations for symptoms and pregnancy check-ups. Contraceptives and certain additional services are paid privately. The deductible applies as usual – we tell you in advance when something is payable by you.

  • It is recommended primarily for adolescents before their first sexual contact, but it can also be worthwhile later. It is covered through the cantonal vaccination programmes. It is the only vaccination that protects against a cancer. → Screening - Cervix

  • Previously the recommendation was from age 50 onward, every two years. The recommendations are currently changing – regular mammography is now advised from age 45. Whether and when it makes sense for you also depends on your family history. → Screening - Breast

  • That depends on your situation in life – whether you want to think about it daily, whether hormones are an option for you, whether your family planning is complete. There is no best method, only the one that is right for you. We go through the options calmly with you. Hormone-Free ContraceptionHormonal Contraception

  • No, you do not. Hormone replacement therapy can relieve symptoms considerably, but it is an option, not an obligation – many women get through it well without. We accompany you through the menopause as a whole, show you the benefits and the limits, and in the end you decide what suits you. Menopause and Hormones

  • Congratulations. The first appointment is usually in the 7th–9th week of pregnancy. Get in touch as soon as you know, and we will plan together. If you have symptoms or bleeding, come earlier.

  • More than most people think. Coffee in moderation is fine, exercise does you good, and travel is usually unproblematic too. There are a few clear things to avoid – but you do not have to spend nine months in worry. Exercise and Daily LifeNutrition

  • There are several examinations that can give indications of certain conditions in the child – from ultrasound and the first trimester test to NIPT. You decide which ones you wish to have and which not; you also have the right not to know. We inform you neutrally so that you can decide in your own time. → Prenatal Diagnostics

Authentic testimonials from our satisfied patients

  • I highly recommend this practice. I’ve been a very satisfied patient for 11 years and felt that I received highly professional care and was treated with genuine concern, both during my pregnancy and in general. Thank you!

    Patient since 2012

  • I was a patient of Dr. Singer for a very long time (no IVF experience). I was extremely well cared for by him, his team, and his wife, even during my pregnancy. The birth itself was also a very pleasant experience. Over all these years, I found the entire team to be “extremely empathetic,” competent, and friendly. During my time as a patient, there wasn’t a single moment when I thought that anyone at this practice wasn’t helpful and empathetic in their actions or responses! On the contrary, I highly recommend them.

    Patient since 2001

  • I’ve been a patient of Dr. Singer for a very long time and, since his move to Küsnacht, have also been under the care of Dr. Hasler. Over the many years, I’ve never had a negative experience with either of the doctors or the staff at the practice—not as a very young woman, during my pregnancy, or as a mother. They always took plenty of time to address my needs, and I felt exceptionally well cared for, especially during my pregnancy. I would therefore always recommend the practice.

    Patient since 2004

  • I’ve been a patient of Dr. Singer and Dr. Hasler for a long time. The gynecology practice is excellent and very pleasant. I’m well-placed to judge this because I previously saw another doctor who, unfortunately, showed little empathy—which is a deal-breaker when it comes to family planning. Dr. Singer and his entire staff work with the utmost professionalism and efficiency. I went to the USZ for a second opinion, and there I easily had to wait two hours for my appointment. The practice is located right next to the train station and is very easy to reach by public transportation.
